We are a dynamic family-run closed corporation with multiple businesses in retail and the service industry located in the Karoo. Our main goal is to offer an exceptional customer experience by taking a hands-on approach in all of our business endeavours.
We currently employ more than a hundred individuals and spend a lot of time and resources providing in-house training in order to encourage skills development and uplift the members of our community.

OK Foods
The Pretorius family acquired the OK Value in Colesberg in 2011, back then it was just a small corner shop. In 2013 the new building was constructed and the OK Value was upgraded to the larger OK Foods we see today. In 2019 OK Foods Colesberg was nominated as a finalist for the ‘National OK Foods Franchisee: Most improved store of the year’ award and was awarded an ‘OK Franchise certificate of excellence’ in 2020.
In 2018 a business opportunity revealed itself in Beaufort West and we decided to take it on in order to expand Exactix even further. OK Foods Beaufort West is located in the Karoo Junction Shopping Mall. Since its opening it has been nominated as a finalist for the ‘National OK Foods Franchisee of the year’ award in 2019 and was awarded an ‘OK Franchise certificate of excellence’ in 2020. It is our largest OK Foods to date with a Nineteen Eighty Nine Coffee & Gift Shop branch located inside.
OK MiniMark Gariep Dam is one of our latest projects, acquired in 2022 and we’re excited to see it grow to its full potential!
OK Liquor
OK Liquor Colesberg was integrated with the new OK Foods building in 2013. Since then it grew to the point where we opened another OK Liquor branch in Kerkstraat in 2018. OK Liquor Colesberg was awarded an ‘OK Franchisee certificate of excellence’ in 2020.
After the successful growth of OK Foods and Liquor in Colesberg, a second branch of OK Liquor was established in 2018 in Kerkstraat. In 2019 OK Liquor Kerkstraat was nominated as a finalist for the ‘National OK Liquor Franchisee of the year’ award and was awarded an ‘OK Franchise certificate of excellence’ in 2020.
Also located in the Karoo Junction Shopping Mall, OK Liquor Beaufort West was opened along with OK Foods Beaufort West in 2018. It has since won the ‘National OK Liquor Franchisee of the year’ award in 2019 and was awarded an ‘OK Franchise certificate of excellence’ in 2020.

Nineteen Eighty Nine
Nineteen Eighty Nine Coffee & Gift Shop in Colesberg opened it’s doors for the first time in 2017. It was a long time dream of Wynand and Alta Pretorius and the name originated from the year they were married to pay tribute to this dream turned reality. We aim to provide both travelers and locals a place to gather, relax and enjoy excellent coffee, home made meals and delicious baked goods. We also offer hand picked gifts, décor, beauty products and clothing. Located next to the OK Foods, it is truly an all in one stop shop!
Nineteen Eighty Nine Coffee & Gift Shop in Beaufort West opened it’s doors in 2018 along with the OK Foods and is located inside the store. At this branch of Nineteen Eighty Nine you can run errands and treat yourself all in one place!
Eighteen Sixty One
Johlan and Monique Pretorius met each other in Colesberg and decided to settle down here, close to their families. Because the town is so centrally located with the N1 and N9 meeting up here, they are free to pursue their shared love of travel and they frequently visit different parts of their wonderfully diverse home country, South Africa.
In 2019 they decided to open their home up to fellow travelers passing through town so they have a place to rest up before continuing onward with their own journey in the Rainbow Nation.
